What makes our Recycled totes so special?
Developed by Penny (Max’s Mum!) with her friend Lesley, a talented seamstress, these totes were inspired by a simple idea our family has been using daily ever since. Refined through careful tweaks and revisions we created a bag we are truly proud of.
Born from our best-selling Brobe collection,
these recycled tote bags are designed to be used and loved every day, while helping us cut down on waste.

“As a brand that encourages everybody to get outdoors and enjoy nature, it’s our responsibility to do our bit to look after it, too.
So we’re always on the lookout for ways to be kinder to the planet and make Beachbum more sustainable.
That’s where the totes came from. Lesley and I were experimenting with brobe offcuts to make cushion covers, pencil cases and all sorts to reduce waste and then we made a tote for carrying everything to the beach.
After a few design tweaks, we decided to make them available for Beachbums to buy to make getting out there even easier.”

You can. It’s reversible, so flip it and put the waterproof shell on the inside when you’ve got wet gear, then switch back when it’s dry.
Shake the sand out, wipe the waterproof shell clean and spot clean the sherpa side when needed. It’s built for easy, everyday care.
It’s made from recycled Brobe offcuts by our founder’s mum, Penny and her friend Lesley, so you’re giving leftover fabric a second life instead of sending it to waste.
Penny, our founder, Max’s mum, and her friend Lesley. We wanted to make use of all of the offcuts from our brobes so they played around with different ideas and then landed on the tote and then kept tweaking it until it felt spot on.
